Jan's Journeys

"Jan's Journeys" allows us to combine our love of travel with two of our other passions, mine for writing and John's for photography. We’re constantly discovering extraordinary "escapes", as well as the unique sights along the way, and we’d like to share them with you.  We hope you enjoy our articles; we hope they’re helpful; and... have a most pleasurable journey wherever you go!

"Jan's Journeys" has been traveling on the web since 1995

What's Been Happening
I'm still remiss in adding our delightful journey to Denmark and a jaunt into Sweden to this website.  We returned to Germany in 2003, with the addition of a side trip to breathtaking Austria.  During the summer we embarked on an enchanting Paris holiday.  Later, we enjoyed an exciting excursion to the far reaches of the world:  Singapore and Kuala Lumpur (and we returned to both of those fabulous cities in 2005).  Early in 2004 we were off to Florence and other points in  Italy's Tuscan Region...what a magnifico trip!  Summer 2004 brought an amazing adventure which took us to China, Hong Kong and Tibet.  We soon continued the exotic locales with a trip to Thailand...oh how we adore Asia!  Autumn 2004 found us in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.  We relaxed in Los Cabos, Mexico just before the holidays began.  Our first trip of 2005 was to South America, visiting Peru {Lima, Cuzco and mystical Machu Picchu}, followed by Argentina {Buenos Aires, and Iguazu Falls on the Argentinean/Brazilian border}.  2006's travels got off to a grandly elegant start with a divine cruise on the incomparable Queen Mary 2 - to quote Cunard: "A most civilized adventure".  Later in the year we were off to Cancún, Mexico.  In addition to the other journeys we have planned planned for 2007 (such as our yearly pilgrimage to Hawaii) will be a visit to the land of the rising sun, Japan.
Happy travels all!
